Terms of Service

By creating an account, joining the waitlist, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you use Rumboo on behalf of others (for example, organizing a trip for a group), you confirm that you are authorized to do so.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use the Service, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. By using Rumboo you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

Rumboo is a tool for planning and organizing trips. It lets you and the people you travel with plan trips across one or more destinations — collecting trip items (such as flights, hotels, places, transport and notes), recording and splitting shared expenses, tracking a budget, building a day-by-day itinerary, storing travel documents, viewing your trips on a map, and sharing a trip card. The website also lets you learn about Rumboo and, before launch, join a waitlist.

Rumboo is currently built for iOS. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.

You can start using Rumboo on your device without an account. To share a trip, collaborate with others, or use cloud features, you will need an account, which you can create using your Google or Apple sign-in through our authentication provider. You are responsible for:

• keeping your account credentials and device secure, and for all activity that happens under your account;
• the accuracy of the information associated with your account; and
• notifying us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Accounts are personal to you. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account to anyone else.

Rumboo offers a free plan and a paid subscription called Rumboo Premium. The free plan includes the core experience with some limits (for example, on the number of active trips, the number of destinations per trip, and the amount of cloud storage). Rumboo Premium unlocks features such as unlimited trips, more destinations per trip, AI-powered place suggestions and itinerary planning, enriched flight details, cloud document storage, and custom trip covers.

The features and limits of each plan, and the price of Rumboo Premium, are shown in the app and may change over time. The price, billing period, and what is included will always be displayed to you before you subscribe.

Rumboo Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription and is purchased and billed through the Apple App Store, not directly by us. Because of this:

• payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase;
• your subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period;
• you can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your Apple ID account settings at any time; and
• refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store’s policies — we generally cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases ourselves.

A subscription is tied to the Apple ID used to purchase it. If you use Rumboowithout an account, your subscription stays linked to your Apple ID; reinstalling and using “Restore purchases” brings back the subscription, but it does not restore trip data stored only on a previous device. We may change subscription prices; any change will apply to future billing periods and, where required, only after notice.

The trips, expenses, notes, photos, documents, and other content you add to Rumbooare yours (“Your Content”). You keep all rights you have in Your Content. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, copy, and display Your Content only as needed to operate and provide the Service — including showing it to the people you have invited to a shared trip and syncing it across your devices.

You are responsible for Your Content. You confirm that:

• you have the rights needed to add it and to share it with your trip members; and
• it does not break the law or infringe anyone else’s rights.

Some content you store — such as passports, visas, tickets, or insurance documents — can be sensitive. You decide what to upload and who to share trips with, and you do so at your own risk. We recommend keeping your own copies of anything important; Rumboo is not a backup service.

Rumboolets you invite other people to a trip by email or invite link. When you do, those people can see and (depending on their role) edit the trip’s content. The person who creates a trip (the “owner”) controls who has access and can assign each member a role — typically a viewer (can read) or an editor (can edit). The owner can change roles, remove members, or delete the trip.

• Only invite people you trust with the trip’s information. You are responsible for who you invite.
• Content added by a member (such as their expenses and balances) may remain part of the trip for the rest of the group even after that member leaves.
• When several people edit at once, the most recent change generally wins, so details may be overwritten by other members.

Rumboo helps you record shared expenses, split them, and see who owes whom, including a suggested way to settle up. This is a bookkeeping and planning tool only. Rumboo does not process payments, hold money, or move funds between you and other users — any actual repayment happens directly between you and the people you travel with, outside the app.

Balances, currency conversions, and settle-up suggestions are estimates based on the information entered, which may be incomplete or incorrect. You are responsible for checking the numbers and for settling real money among yourselves. We are not a party to, and are not responsible for, any financial arrangement or dispute between you and other users.

To enrich your trips, Rumbooshows information from third-party sources — for example, flight details from flight-data providers, place and map information from mapping providers such as Apple Maps and Google, and currency exchange rates from a rates provider. This information is provided “as is.” We do not create it and cannot guarantee that it is accurate, complete, or current. Always verify important details — such as flight times, addresses, opening hours, and prices — with the official source before relying on them.

Some Rumboo features use artificial intelligence to suggest places or arrange your itinerary. These suggestions are generated automatically, may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your trip, and are offered only as a starting point. You are responsible for reviewing them and for any decisions you make — always confirm key details (such as opening hours, travel times, and bookings) before relying on them.

Third-party content remains the property of its providers and is subject to their terms. You may use it for your personal trip planning, but you may not redistribute, resell, or reuse it outside the Service except as those providers allow.

When using Rumboo, you agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose;
• upload content you have no right to use, or that infringes someone else’s rights, is unlawful, or contains malware;
• harass, abuse, or harm other users, or misuse another person’s data shared with you on a trip;
• attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours, or interfere with or disrupt the Service;
• copy, scrape, reverse engineer, or build a competing product from the Service, except where the law expressly allows it; or
• work around plan limits, billing, security measures, or these Terms.

The Rumboo name, logo, app, website, design, and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service as intended by these Terms. We keep all rights not expressly granted to you.

You download the Rumbooapp from the Apple App Store, and your use of it is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms. You acknowledge that:

• these Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content;
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app;
• we, not Apple, are responsible for the app and for addressing any claims relating to it (including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and claims that the app infringes someone else’s rights), to the extent we are responsible under these Terms and the law; and
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. By using Rumboo, you acknowledge that processing as described there.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent allowed by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any data, calculation, or third-party information it shows will be accurate or reliable. You use Rumboo to plan your trips at your own discretion and risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, savings, or trips, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including service interruptions, technical issues, data loss, inaccurate third-party information, or financial disputes between you and other users.

To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Rumboo in the 12 months before the claim, or €50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms or the law, or content you upload or share through Rumboo.

You may stop using Rumboo at any time and can delete your account from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. When your account is deleted, we remove or anonymize your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy, though some content you contributed to a shared trip may remain with that group. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as content ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. By continuing to use Rumboo after changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring claims before the courts that the law makes available to you. EU consumers can also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform.
